Not quite ready?

No one here is going to lecture you about the dangers of smoking. Unless you have been comatose for 30 years, you have aleady been lectured.

Here is how to get ready:

1. Choose a Quit Day and mark it on the calendar. If you need to, call Meg.

2. Tell everyone!

3. Ask for help from friends and family.

4. Designate your home and your car as non-smoking areas.

5. Clean your house and your clothes, including your coats.

6. Change to a brand of cigarettes you dislike. No menthol!

7. Kiss a child after smoking a cigarette and ask if you smell.

8. Spend ten minutes looking at yourself in the mirror in strong light. Look at your eyes, your wrinkles, you skin, your teeth, your gums. It is only going to get worse.

9. Concentrate on each cigarette you light up. Decide what you will do with your hands when you are a non-smoker.

10. On Quit Day, throw away all ashtrays and lighters.

If you think you smoke because of the stress in your life, realize that smoking the cigarette is not reducing your stress. Your blood pressure and heart rate go up when you smoke; you are not relaxing. Using hypnosis, you will learn other ways how to

manage stress.
